A Fraction of the Sum.

What’s this? A new video from Thursday and on an actual Thursday no less?  Steve, you shouldn’t have. But it’s awesome.  The song is “In Silence” from the band’s recent split EP with Japanese band Envy which you can buy right here.  (Or buy for me, if you will please.)  And you’ll have to go visit this link to see it, as there seems to be no embedding option.  But go check it out.  Very cool look to it.

Speaking of Envy, here’s a hardcore blast called “Left Hand” for your viewing pleasure. I’m not always fond of screamed singing styles, particularly when I can’t distinguish a single word that’s being said.  The fact that this is in Japanese though is actually kind of liberating.  Because even if I could understand what’s being sung, I still wouldn’t understand what it meant. So I just don’t worry about it!  Ahh, blissful American ignorance…

I can dig it.  And listen to this album title: All the Footprints You’ve Ever Left and the Fear Expecting Ahead. Wow.  How is it that a Japanese band has a more interesting English title than most English-speaking bands?  First it was electronics, then cars, then Ichiro, and now album titles.  They must be stopped.

Well, I originally was in the mood for some Built to Spill this morning.  Fortunately for you that hasn’t changed.  Here’s “Carry the Zero” from Keep it Like a Secret. The last minute of this song goes into the outerspace of incredible:

And that’s that.  More tomorrow…
