I’m in the mood for something noisy this morning. Whether this is a result of listening to Metallica right before bed last night or the fact that it’s so cold here this morning I want to rip my face off is up for debate. Regardless, here’s the late great At The Drive-In spazzing out “Arcarsenal” from Relationship of Command live in Australia. Sink your, sink your teeth in:
And remember when the Foo Fighters used to sound like this:
Don’t get me wrong; I love the Foo and like the new stuff. But what I wouldn’t give to take Dave Grohl’s acoustic guitars and run over them with a monster truck. That first album – man, what a great record. Anyway, I need something new. More of the noisier bands I hear nowadays generally have some facet about them I don’t care for, something that keeps me from jumping aboard with both feet. Dillinger Escape Plan is one of those bands. They normally veer much, much farther on the side of technically jarring metal (or, God help us, “Mathcore”) than I care for but I kind of like the following song . It’s “Milk Lizard” off of their album Ire Works:
Who’s the next At the Drive-In? Fugazi? Jawbox? Somebody clue me in. I wanna listen to them.
More tomorrow…

Playing with a new theme. May stay, may not. Thanks for tolerating the test.

I vote to go back to the original. This is terrible.
